How is Capitol Shine’s Paint Protection Film Applied?
You’ve heard us talk about our paint protection formulas like Ceramic Pro and Opti-Coat Pro, but another option you may consider is Paint Protection Film. Capitol Shine’s films are extremely durable, can be removed and replaced, provide excellent rock chip protection and self healing effects.
The process of applying film requires steady hands and patience. If you’ve ever applied a protective layer to a smartphone screen, you can relate on some level. It’s important for the surface to be clean, for every edge to line up perfectly, and for no air bubbles to exist. Having the film line up is especially important as even the slightest degree in variation is noticeable.
At Capitol Shine, our trained professionals our expert craftsmen and women. We clean and detail the car from top to bottom, then use a combination of special tools to apply the film. The end result is stunning, to say the least.
In addition to protection, some customers like paint protection film because it offers the chance to change their vehicle’s color without having to repaint. Imagine changing your vehicle’s color while preserving the original paint underneath. The film can be removed at a later time and return the vehicle to its factory color.
Another reason our customers choose film is for a unique look, such as a flat/matte paint look instead of glossy, as a recent customer ordered for their 2017 Ford Raptor.
Here is the original glossy finish:
After we’ve cleaned and detailed the truck, it was time to start applying the film:
Finally, after many hours, the process is complete and the final look is a matte finish:
We offer different packages of film wrapping for different areas of your vehicle.
Paint Protection Film is a clear wrap applied to your vehicle’s paint to protect against rock chips. With a high-end film, having a scratch-free finish is even easier due to the self-healing effects. For a low maintenance finish with superior gloss, add layer(s) of Ceramic Pro to film and gain even greater protection.
We offer 3 main packages:
- Full bumper wrap
- Full bumper | Partial hood | Partial fenders | Both side mirrors
- Full Bumper | Full hood | Full Fenders | Both side mirrors

It’s important to remember that PPF works best on vehicles with the original factory paint or that of a higher-end paint job. For even more protection, consider adding a layer of Ceramic Pro or Opti-Coat Pro on top of the film.
